Venture International (Lao) Co. Ltd (Vilco) is confident that its stake holders desire to operate in an environment that is free from influence due to unethical business practices. Therefore Vilco conducts business in a manner that does not, in any way, compromise ethical principles.

Customer and Supplier Practises

Vilco shall

  • not engage in any deceptive, unlawful or unethical customer practice. It maintains the highest standard of personal and professional conduct in dealing with customers and suppliers;
  • encourage and promote the highest level of ethical and professional conduct within our profession;
  • respect and pursue its customers' and suppliers' objectives in ways that are consistent with the public interest and fair to the stakeholders;
  • continually keep its customers and suppliers informed of matters that may adversely affect our relationship with them and their ability to compete in the market place. It always communicates matters with customers and suppliers in a truthful and accurate manner. It avoids the intent and appearance of unethical or compromising practise in relationships, and actions; and
  • recognise and discharge our responsibility to uphold all laws and regulations governing the policies and activities of its profession.


Competitors

Vilco shall

  • Be courteous and professional in its dealing with other competitors in the industry; and
  • Respect the rights and interest of competitors, work with them for the advancement of all the industry.

Products

The offer of products or services for sales of the company shall be accurate and truthful as to price, grade, quality, make, value, performance, quantity, currency of model and availability. A customer's order for products and services shall be fulfilled in a timely manner.


Employees

Health and Safety. Vilco shall provide a safe and healthy working environment to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of, linked with, or occurring in the course of work or as a result of the operation of company facilities.

Wages and Benefits. Vilco will recognise that wages are essential to meeting its basic needs. It shall pay employees, as a floor, at least the minimum wage required by local law or the prevailing industry wage, whichever is higher, and shall provide legally mandated benefits.

Hours of Work. Except in extraordinary business circumstances, employees shall not be required to work more than 48 hours per week and 12 hours of overtime, and shall be entitled to at least one day off in every seven day period.

Overtime Compensation. In addition to their compensation for regular hours of work, employees shall be compensated for overtime hours at such premium rate as is legally required in the labour law of Lao PDR.

Forced Labour. There shall not be any use of forced labour, whether in the form of prison labour, bonded labour or otherwise.

Child Labour. No person shall be employed at an age younger than 16.

Harassment or Abuse. Every employee shall be treated with respect and dignity. No employee shall be subject to any physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse.

Non-discrimination. No person shall be subject to any discrimination in employment, including hiring, salary, benefits, advancement, discipline, termination or retirement, on the basis of gender, race ,religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political opinion, or social or ethnic origin.
